Company Overview
LafCal was started in 2009 by a group of business owners who shared a common interest creating a resource to promote downtown events in Lafayette, Indiana.
Challenge
The City of Lafayette needed a one-stop location for events in the downtown area. There were other calendars in existence, but not one, unified resource for arts, dining, music, movies, and nightlife happenings.
Strategy
Our development team was ready to implement a custom calendar system that would allow users to create an account for their business, add their logo and location information, and be able to post upcoming events at
their venues.
Results
The project launched as was an instant success. It was a great improvement, both visually and functionally, over the existing Google Calendar solution that was being used. It was not only faster, but it also provided additional features such as the ability to associated uploaded documents (flyers, coupons, etc.) for each event.
