Google recently introduced a new real-time communication / collaboration web application know as Google Wave. So what exactly is it you might be asking yourself and how is it different from other products on the market?
Google Wave allows users to communicate using rich text, photos, video, maps and more. A user can comment on messages, edit content, add participants and more. The really nice thing about Wave is it allows a user to then rewind the "wave" to see what collaborators have posted. Of course, it also boasts live transmission for faster real-time communication.
As of May 18th, Google wave is openly available to the public as part of Google Labs. No invitation required for this one. If you or your organization have tested it out we would love to hear from you about your experience with the application.
I am interested to see what tools get developed for Google Wave with it’s API. (http://code.google.com/apis/wave/) . I might even have to build some myself.
After a little research I found that there is a whole library of add-ons aka Google Wave Extensions located here (http://wave.google.com/extensions.html)
Here are instructions on how to install extensions: (http://www.google.com/support/wave/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=163117)
I was looking for this type of information, my Gf is not recieving my phone so i want to impress her any how today. thanks for such info and i love google because they help us to get good info which we look for always.
Yeah, I am really a fan of Google Wave but now I do believe that Wave is not going to make a big magic or to replace the e-mail protocol. Surely, Wave is fantastic but average people are not likely to use Wave now.
About live blogging… its really interesting. As I am using blogger blog, to implying wave in blog the robot blog-bot@appspot.com is more useful.
